Brixham Trawler Agents (B.T.A.) run the market on a commission
basis, providing the Trawler needs, from the collection of fish,
Landing, Icing and selling of their fish.
The commission charged to the boats is 5%.
Torbay council also takes 2.5% for boats landing in Brixham, this is
reduced to 1.5 % for any fish that is sent overland.
There is a 1 % charge for any merchant
who wants to buy fish on Brixham market.

The Auction runs from 6am on a
Monday and Friday and from 7 am on a Tuesday, Wednesday and
Thursday. Viewing of the fish on the market floor before auction
times is permitted, the correct clothing must be worn at all
times when entering the fish market.
